Olga Lundager:

New minianthurium of Lundager in high demand

At the IPM Essen, the new mini Anthurium Million Flowers Red® of LUNDAGER attracted a lot of attention and made many visitors stop to take a closer look at the plant. According to the owner of LUNDAGER, Olga Lundager, this underlines the popularity of the plant. "Only three months ago, we put our "Million Flowers Red®" on the market and we already cannot meet the demand," says Olga Lundager of LUNDAGER, a Danish finished plant grower.

Own breed
In cooperation with several breeders, LUNDAGER have worked on this new variety for several years. "After two years of intensive testing, the plant was ready for commercial production. In Europe, we now have the exclusive right to produce this plant," says Lundager.

Million Flowers Red®
The name of this mini Aanthurium is Million Flowers Red®. The Anthurium flowers and foilage of the plants are only a few centimeters in size. At the IPM, LUNDAGER presented this Anthurium in an own designed pot and named the concept Small Beauty. "With this concept, we think we have created a good balance between the pot and flower."

The concept: Small Beauty.

Cannot meet demand
On a monthly basis LUNDAGER is currently able to produce 12,000 plants. However, according to Lundager, this is not enough as they do not meet the demand. "The demand is high, higher than the amounts we are currently producing. As it is has been introduced only three months ago, not much starter material is available. Now, we are doing our utmost best to increase the production, but it takes time."

LUNDAGER
LUNDAGER produces around 250 varieties of green and flowering plants in 6 cm pots, approximately 50 varieties of green plants in 12 cm pots and over 200 added value items and magnetic pots. Over 80% of production is sold to export markets in Europe and 3 countries.
