Who will win the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize 2017? On Wednesday, 11 January 2017, we shall finally know which entrepreneur demonstrated the best innovative and sustainable business acumen because that is when the winners will be announced. The Keukenhof is hosting the 31st Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize.

The nominated companies are:
  • Bunnik Plants from Bleiswijk
  • Green Specialties Holland from Lierop
  • Jac. Uittenbogaard & Zn. (JUB Holland) from Noordwijkerhout
"The candidates are excellent entrepreneurs and a model of innovation in the horticultural sector. Their stories inspire," added the jury of the Horticultural Entrepreneur's Prize.

Theme: Family-run companies
The theme of the meeting is 'Family-run companies, the art of successful succession'. Prof. Pursey Heugens from RSM Erasmus University will talk about this theme during the evening. His research into 'New blood, new direction' contains a number of strong conclusions. Heugens pays attention to the successful handing over of a family-run company. In a panel discussion, three young entrepreneurs present their experience with company take-overs. They are:
  • Joyce Lansbergen from LG Flowers
  • Erwin van der Lans from Lans
  • Dirk Ebben from Boomkwekerij Ebben
The prestigious award ceremony is combined with the New Year's meeting of the horticultural sector, when the annual figures for the sector are presented.
