A rose nursery in North Ossetia has acquired a new greenhouse. With its launch, the production capacity will increase by 30%. “We have built a new greenhouse next to the existing one of 0.5 ha in the village of Gizel, and have increased our acreage to 1.2 ha”, reported Mr. Aleksandr Tuayev, deputy general director of the Agrosoyuz Standard company, owner of the enterprise. He noted that the whole greenhouse complex is equipped with modern systems imported from the Netherlands. Seedlings of roses to be grown in the greenhouses are also bought there.
Apart from roses, the enterprise grows tulips, carnations and eustomas. The breeders develop new varieties every year. Setting up a production unit for growing exotic plants that are now imported from Europe is among the company's nearest plans. “For that to come true we have qualified employees, contemporary equipment, we only lack land. We are hoping to obtain a plot in the nearest future”, noted Mr. Tuayev, having remarked that they have already applied for the land plot allocation.
In accordance with the information received from the Ministry of Agriculture of North Ossetia, there is no similar rose nursery, neither in the republic itself nor in the whole of the North Caucuses. Almost half of the flowers sold in Vladikavkaz are grown here.
