Finnish local commerce platform sees an increase in flower sales in the run-up to Mother's Day

Local commerce platform Wolt announces it has delivered over 1 million orders from flower shops across its 27 markets. With 2,000+ florists on Wolt's platform – over 90% of which are small and medium-sized businesses.

The Wolt team states:" Both local florists and chains of all sizes are drawn to Wolt for our support, flexibility, and ability to connect them with online shoppers and unlock new revenue streams with fast and reliable deliveries. In a recent local commerce survey of 4,000+ respondents, 35% of respondents said they would not have an online business without Wolt or other delivery platform services."

They add: "Flower sales are booming – especially in the run-up to special occasions like Mother's Day, complemented by a wide array of retail products from groceries to electronics and health and beauty also available on Wolt's platform."

"I'm thrilled we can offer flower deliveries across our markets. With faster and easier access to everything from flowers, to restaurants and groceries, we're not only making holidays like Mother's Day extra special but also empowering small and medium-sized businesses to reach more customers", said Panos Karouzos, Head of New Verticals, Wolt
