1- 3 September 2016, Flower Expo, Warsaw

Poland: Promising for floriculture

“Compared to most other countries on the European mainland, Poland is a rapidly growing market for the floricultural sector. The Polish economy is the fastest growing economy in Europe, export rates of floricultural products from the Netherlands to Poland have increased enormously over the last years and the potential growth in sales – Poland has almost 40 million inhabitants and its people are generally crazy about flowers and plants – is enormous.”

These are, in a nutshell, the reasons why BureauSierteelt, a Dutch organization promoting the floricultural industry, has long been looking to organize a trade fair in the country. Together with her colleagues, Francine van Wijk has now started a campaign to promote the event to enthuse international floricultural companies to participate in the Flower Expo Poland.

Nico de Jager from BureauSierteelt and Agnieszka Zukowska of the Polish Association for Greenery Promotion (the organizational and promotional half of the PNA) seal the deal with a handshake.

Economic growth
With the economic developments and the Polish love for flowers, the chances are good. Since Poland joined the European Union in 2004, overall trade with the country has tripled. Thanks to the rapid economic growth, the Polish people can afford more (luxury) products, and interest in green products and interior decoration is increasing. Export value of Dutch flowers and plants show a solid grow by 25% over the last two years and amounted to more than 173 milion euros in 2015. And even though local production is growing, though the country still largely relies on import.

Flower Expo Poland
The fair will be organized in cooperation with the Polish Association for Greenery Promotion. For more than 20 years, they have been organizing GREEN IS LIFE, a trade fair for outdoor plants, trees and landscaping. “With around 16,000 visitors (amongs them 6,500 professionals) and 260 participating companies, it’s a big and well known event. However, for some years now, they've been looking for an opportunity to broaden the product range on display. Mostly, they wanted to include indoor flowers and plants in the fair. Since we wanted to organize a fair in Poland ourselves, we decided to team up and add a new section of flowers & plants to the existing fair.”

Flower Expo Poland willl be organized from 1- 3 September 2016, at Expo XXI in Warsaw, Poland. You can find all information to the event at: www.flowerexpo.pl
