The disinfection of water is becoming increasingly important for nurseries worldwide. Checks on drain water are increasing, as is the general focus on sustainability. The Ecoster machines have been used worldwide to disinfect drain water for years. Now the collection is supplemented by an electric model. "The principle is the same as the other models," says Mark Hellevoort. "We continue to work with disinfection by heating. This allows you to disinfect the water completely. But in the past twenty years, we have gained knowledge. We have incorporated this experience into a new model." The new Ecoster E400 is equipped with a heating element of 3000 watts to heat the water to 85 degrees. The disinfection takes place in three minutes.
Smaller model
The new Ecoster E400 is smaller than the other machines. "At research stations and cultivation companies abroad there was a demand for a smaller model. This resulted in the 400-liter unit." With this capability, the model is suitable for nurseries up to 3,000 meters. The starting point is then a drain rate of 30% and an irrigation of up to 10 liters per m2 per day.
The line drain water sanitisers by Van Dijk Heating already include the traditional Ecoster, which is heated with gas, and the Ecoster K, which is connected to the external heating. These units are also re-designed by Van Dijk Heating.
