Europe: Cultivation and propagation in the fifties

British Pathe published a couple of videos regarding the floriculture sector in the UK in the fifties. They filmed a rose producing company in the British Covent Garden. The process from cultivation to packaging and sales is being illustrated.



Breeding
In this period, they were also working on new orchid varieties. The video below was made in Hertfordshire in 1956. In this video, orchid expert David Sander is breeding new varieties.
