French are most eager online flower buyers

Around 37% of Brits and 32% of French people have bought flowers online this year. This number has increased by 10% since 2010. These percentages are around 12% and 23% in the Netherlands and Germany. This research was performed by the market and information department of FloraHolland.



Mother's Day
The biggest increase during the past five years in all four countries was the delivery of birthday bouquets. A birthday is the main destination of an online flower bouquet. Valentine's and Mother's Day are in a second place but are appearing to be less important these days.

Fleurop
With a market share of between 25% and 38% in the Netherlands, Germany, France and the UK, the online flower market is dominated by Interflora. But since 2015, we have seen that this company has to deal with relatively new players on the market, for example emerging player Bloom & Wild.
