Bart van der Elsken working with Strelitzia
This is a world record and is now in the Guinness Book of Records. Obviously Bart, who already has had a life as a florist and subsequently as a promoter, advisor and arranger on all kinds of events throughout the world, is proud. And not only of the record, of which he already has several to his name, such as the longest uninterrupted flower line. Bart will also have the honour to lend his name to the largest flower shop in Kharkov, the second city of Ukraine: “Barts’ Flower Center”.

Beside the flower tapestry in Kiev, Bart also shaped the annual Flower Exhibition, with which the independence of the country is celebrated. For the exhibition only flowers from the Netherlands were used. When designing Bart was helped by Sergii Andrieiev (owner of CIB and Bart's Flower Center), friend and colleague Jaap Wisse, 11 Ukrainian florists and another 50 helpers from the country. After the exhibition in Kiev the flower arrangements were constructed again in front of the door of Bart’s Flower Center in Kharkov.
