Sjoukje Heimovaara new CEO of Royal Van Zanten

Royal Van Zanten appointed Sjoukje Heimovaara to the post of CEO. She succeeds Arie Veldhuyzen van Zanten, who is retiring. Arie Veldhuyzen van Zanten managed the company for more than 15 years during a period in which the company developed into a big player in international floriculture.

Sjoukje Heimovaara joined Royal Van Zanten in 2003 as director R&D. Over the years she has been involved in managing the various business units. Early this year she was appointed CEO of the Van Zanten Breeding B.V. division. She will continue to fill this position in addition to her new post.

Heimovaara had this to say about her appointment: “With a history going back over 150 years and an international presence and strong customer relationships, Royal Van Zanten is in a unique position to further shape and expand its prominent role in the market.
