This year, Beekenkamp worked together with the charity "Caring for Life" in Leeds. This charity helps vulnerable people to achieve a settled constructive lifestyle. "They really loved working with these plants and the beautiful colour gave them a big smile on their faces. It is a rewarding exercise for everybody involved" says John Woodruff, Caring for Life Garden Centre manager.

All of the unused show plants, including plants from other local growers, are donated to the garden centre “Caring for Life” to support the charity.
