Lidl introduces GGN consumer label for flowers and ornamentals

German based retailer Lidl expands their demand for certification to their suppliers of flowers and ornamentals. GlobalGAP has already been Lidl's standard of choice for fruit and vegetable sold in their European stores for many years. Now they published new requirements for their ornamental range sold in Germany and hereby introduce the GGN consumer label to be implemented by the end of 2019. All products of that range shall be made fully traceable to the production source which will be made visible with farm profiles on the GlobalGAP consumer portal www.ggn.org. Lidl's requirements can be found here as a position paper in German language.

The GGN label shows that a flower or ornamental plant is sourced from a certified, responsibly managed farm, and helps the consumer to learn more about the respective origins.

All products with the GGN label come from farmers who are certified according to the rules of the GlobalGAP Standard.
