On 30 October 2018, during a festive award show in the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht, Gerhard van der Bijl of Royal FloraHolland won the Computable Award CxO of the Year. Floriday achieved a second place in the category ICT Project of the Year.
According to the jury, Gerhard owes his nomination to the redesign of the IT organization in a short period of time. Gerhard van der Bijl: “With Royal FloraHolland we are creating a digital marketplace for the floriculture industry. Major investments are being made. We want to enable all our growers to participate in this new digital world. This is what our teams are designing.”
In the run-up to the voting, the nominees in the category CxO of the Year were asked to explain their nomination in a short video.
Second place for Floriday ICT Project of the Year
Digital sales platform Floriday was nominated for a Computable Award as well. With more than 25% of the votes, Floriday achieved a second place for ICT Project of the Year in the Large Corporation category. Floriday received nearly 30% of the jury votes and 21% of the public votes. According to the jury, Floriday will enable Royal FloraHolland to make strong progress in the years to come and to also make the floriculture industry a digital success. First place went to Schiphol with their Digital Airport Program.
