June 2018 was a month filled with exhibitions, after the IFTEX in Kenya, the FlowerTrials and GreenTech in the Netherlands, Salon du Végétal in France, the 18th World Rose Convention (WRC) in Denmark and Hortitec in Brazil were held. In addition to the shows, many events were held. During the IFTEX week in Nairobi, for example, we had the opportunity to visit breeder Meilland and rose growers Penta Flowers and Zena Roses and during the FlowerTrials week, Hishtil organized an event alongside the FlowerTrials and Floricultura Brasil officially opened their doors right after Hortitec.
But more happened this month. Lidl introduced GGN consumer label for flowers and ornamentals, Midsummer celebrations in Sweden increased flower sales, the impact of the volcano eruption in Hawaii, US became clear and The Green Organic Dutchman signed a letter of intent for a 50/50 joint venture with Queen Genetics/Knud Jepsen A/S for the production of organic cannabis.
Below the complete overview.
