During the sixteenth edition of HortiContact (19 to 21 February 2019) there will be a Starter Pavilion and a new HortiHeroes Start-up Square. A total of six newcomers present themselves at the Starter Pavilion and five startups from HortiHeroes are present at the HortiHeroes Start-up Square. In addition, a Fossil-free Plaza is on HortiContact for the first time. The complete program is now final.
Six start-up companies wishing to present themselves at an international trade fair such as HortiContact are at the Starter Pavilion. The starting companies are: Aponix vertical barrel - 3D-NFT, 2Grow BVBA, Aqua4D-Lescrauwaet B.V., Beacon Fields, Rosa Werkt and SCHOLLGLAS Nederland B.V. "Above all, I want to encourage visitors to take a look at the Starter Pavilion and discover what these six newcomers add to the beautiful horticulture industry in the Netherlands", says Mariëlle Schonewille, Head of Horticulture on behalf of exhibition organizer Easyfairs.
HortiHeroes Start-up Square
HortiHeroes hosts five startups during HortiContact: PATS Indoor Drone Solutions, Skelex B.V., Webflight/Makerstreet, POWERthePLANT and Floranti. HortiHeroes itself is also present on the first floor for questions or tips. During the three exhibition days, the start-ups give a few demonstrations and short presentations. A selection of the products and services of the HortiHeroes startups: small drones that directly eliminate flying insects, help with the digital transition or disruptive innovations and customized passive exoskeleton solutions.
Fossil-Free Plaza on HortiContact
A new initiative at HortiContact is the Fossil-Free Plaza which is organized by Kas als Energiebron on behalf of Glastuinbouw Nederland and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in collaboration with HortiContact. Every hour specialists give pitches on the route to a fossil-free and profitable greenhouse horticulture. The speakers will include: Glastuinbouw Nederland, Greenport West Holland, Antecy, WUR Glastuinbouw, L.A. van Schie, Energiecoöperatie Kralingerpolder, AAB, Lets Grow, Energiecoöperatie Asten-Someren, Ter Laak Orchids, Van der Hoorn Orchideeën, Rozenkwekerij Porta Nova, Van Adrichem kwekerijen, DAGO, Glastuinbouw Westland and OCAP.
On to an emission-free cultivation
In addition, experts from Glastuinbouw Nederland are present at the Fossil-Free Plaza to enter into discussions with visitors about various options that Kas als Energiebron is working on. There are options for each crop and region. The aim is to halve the CO2 emissions of the greenhouse horticulture sector in 2030 in order to be able to grow without any emissions in 2040. In this way the sector responds to the social demand and the increasing demands of the consumer.
The trade fair can be visited on 19, 20 and 21 February 2019 from 1 pm to 9 pm in Evenementenhal Gorinchem.
