Greenyard Horticulture changes name to Agaris

Greenyard's former Horticulture division will be named Agaris. The Greenyard Horticulture division became a stand-alone organisation in the autumn of 2018. Agaris will continue to develop growing media. Together with the new family shareholder Straco, Agaris will focus on a strategy of growth.

'May you be grown'
Agaris finds its basis in Latin and comes from the verb ‘agere’ (do, make, act). It means as much as ‘it will be done for you’, or in the case of plants, ‘may you be grown.’ The new logo combines the leaf of a plant and the cap of a mushroom and symbolizes as such the two Agaris divisions: Horti (growing media for plants) and Myco (growing media for mushrooms).

A range of growing media
Agaris creates growing media for different sales segments. Professional growers from all over the world can count on specialized growing media for a sustainable and performant cultivation. The growing media of Agaris are essential for the cultivation of mushrooms, fruits & vegetables and ornamental crops. Agaris is also active in the hobby markets and is partner of the biggest European retailers. Finally, Agaris has a wide offer of growing media for urban green applications.

“We are pleased to share our new name and identity with you. With our extensive range of constant quality growing media, we wish to make an important contribution to a sustainable growth, performing and with respect for people and the environment. We want to grow with our customers and partners thanks to our personalized solutions, efficient supply chain and hands-on approach”, says Stefaan Vandaele, CEO of Agaris.
