Many of the ornamental horticulture and turf product line innovations recently developed by Mycorrhizal Applications have been sparked by direct requests from the market, especially from growers themselves and/or the distributors who serve ornamental horticulturists. MycoApply Injector Endo, the latest addition to the MycoApply horticulture and turf line of products, is no exception.
Large ornamental greenhouses and nurseries utilize very precise processes on a very large scale, and one of the more important tools in this industry is the horticulture injection system used to dose many of the inputs applied to crops. In order to allow large-scale growing operations to incorporate mycorrhizae into their growing protocols efficiently and effectively, the team at Mycorrhizal Applications developed a highly concentrated new product on a soluble humic carrier, formulated for application via horticulture injection equipment: MycoApply Injector Endo.
MycoApply Injector Endo was launched on June 1, 2019, and features four species of endomycorrhizae, Glomus intraradices, G. mosseae, G. etunicatum, and G. aggregatum (these soil organisms benefit about 85% of plant species), at a very high concentration of 17,600 propagules per gram (7,983,219 propagules per pound). This new addition to the MycoApply lineup is a concentrated suspendable powder formulation on a soluble humic carrier, sold in 100-gram bags with a 20-gram scoop included. MycoApply Injector Endo is designed to be applied at a rate of 20 grams per 1 gallon of water in the injector’s stock tank, and diluted at a rate of 1:100 gallons of drench via injection/dosing equipment. This means that each 100-gram bag of MycoApply Injector Endo can treat 500 gallons of application solution. This drench can be applied to the crop via boom spray, sprinkler systems, hand sprayers, spray irrigation, drip irrigation, through soil drench, or plug tray dip application methods.
“For medium and large growers looking for a cost-effective and low labor cost method of applying a high-performance mycorrhizae, MycoApply Injector Endo is the product you have been waiting for”, says Blair Busenbark, Sales and Commercial Marketing Manager for Mycorrhizal Applications.
Endomycorrhizae are biological, symbiotic soil fungi, which colonize plants’ root systems and act as a living extension of the roots, drastically increasing the absorptive surface area and improving the plant’s nutrient and water efficiency. Data shows that mycorrhizae provide a range of direct and indirect benefits to host plants through this symbiosis, and ultimately increase plants’ overall vitality, stress resilience, drought resistance, and transplant success. They can also reduce necessary investments in other important production inputs such as fertilizer and irrigation.
MycoApply Injector Endo is now available for professional growers and green industry professionals in 100 g. bags through horticulture supply distributors throughout the United States (excluding California at the time of this publication).
