Oserian Development Company Limited wishes to inform the general public, traders and suppliers that it has become aware of instances whereby persons with no known affiliation to Oserian Development Company Limited are fraudulently presenting fabricated LPOs that they purport to have been issued by Oserian Development Company Limited and cheques that are not drawn against genuine Oserian Development Company Limited bank accounts to unsuspecting businesses in Nakuru County and possibly beyond.
Over the past two weeks we have been notified by several traders that they have been deceived and made to believe that goods had been ordered by Oserian Development Company Limited when no such goods had been ordered, and have thereafter released such goods to fraudsters upon receipt of falsified cheques that are subsequently declined by their respective banks.
Oserian Development Company Limited therefore requests that businesses and the general public do conduct the necessary due diligence with its Procurement Department in order to safeguard themselves from falling victim to fraudulent activity. Anything of a suspicious nature should be reported immediately to both the authorities and Oserian Development Company Limited.
If a trader or supplier has any doubt about the authenticity of the LPO being presented to them, they should contact the Oserian Development Company Limited to seek verification.
We have informed the relevant authorities of this unfortunate development and trust that the perpetrators shall be duly apprehended.
Kindly take note that Oserian Development Company Limited will not assume responsibility for any fraudulent orders and/or any fabricated cheques dishonoured as a consequence of any fraudulent activity.
