With the new version of the track & trace platform by Beam, it becomes much easier for growers, cold stores, and exporters to control their stock and to trace the bulb from A to Z. Without the high costs of an expensive stock system or ERP, as the founders say.
On an iPad (on the forklift), a computer or a smartphone, the entrepreneur sees a map of their company. This makes it easier to quickly find, relocate or view the history of a shipment. Especially the history of the shipment is becoming more and more important, due to the stricter regulations and the introduction of the plant passport. This obligates the growers to document the history of a shipment fully. The Beam track & trace system, which received a significant update last month, makes this possible.
The start-up Beam is one of the two companies that, in cooperation with the Royal General Bulb Growers' Association (KAVB), launched a pilot in the field of data in the flower bulb sector. More information about the pilot program can be found here (in Dutch).
