‘The Power of Social’ is the theme for this year’s HTA Marketing Forum which takes place on 16 October 2019 at Horticulture House in Oxfordshire. This one-day event is aimed at all those delivering marketing and public relations in the garden industry and provides top tips and expert knowledge to help achieve marketing targets and growth.
Focussing on how social can help you develop your business, topics covered will include digital skills, content sourcing, using video and podcasts. Along with ‘how to’ sessions there will be a number of case studies from across the industry with exemplar businesses sharing the secrets of their success.
Julie Hall, The School of Marketing will be talking about the importance of creating marketing strategies for your business. Jade Lamb, Zazzle Media will provide hints and tips of how and where to source both written and visual content.
How to
Simone Bennett, The Social Managers will be giving a beginner’s rundown for Facebook and Instagram. Huw Richards, Huws Nursery, will give a case study on how video can be used to enhance social media. Jessica Waller, Frobisher’s, will go through the brand transformation that Frobisher’s has undergone.
Media engagement
Tamsin Westhorpe, Joint Chairman of the Garden Media Guild (GMG), will discuss how the industry can engage with the GMG, and how the GMG want to build a relationship with the industry in order to shape content. Skinny Jean Gardener, Lee Connelly, will give his thoughts and insights into social media, including podcasts and Instagram. Alan Down will give his account of engaging with the press and the growth and success of his blog.
Marketing in practice
Dan Barber, Standout, will highlight tools to aid digital marketing. Edwin Meijer, Garden Connect, will outline Search Engine Optimisation and its benefits with Social Marketing.
The HTA Marketing team will also be giving a definition of what the power of social means for a business. Where it is currently and where it is heading. They will also look at how it is growing in different directions using the latest digital research findings.
