A preview of Morel's 100 year anniversary

The trials of the French cyclamen breeder Morel Diffusion are taking place in the Netherlands for the 15th time. They started last week, a month earlier than all previous years, as they will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in the new greenhouse at their home location Fréjus, in the South of France, next month.

Johan Huisman, Eric Forschelen and Hein DeSmet

Last Tuesday, Preesman Potplanten opened its doors in 's-Gravendeel, where a total of 26,000 cyclamen are presented (143 species and about 200 of each). "The size makes it a pretty unique flowering test," says Johan Huisman, sales promoter at Morel and cultivation consultant Eric Forschelen. They compare it to a practical test.

The most important species are presented here and also the breeders of Morel will come and take a look at how the products are doing under the Dutch conditions. The trials in the Netherlands will run until October 18.

All types and groups will be present at the 100th anniversary that will take place on 14 and 15 November and from 18 to 22 November 2019 in their new greenhouse in Fréjus - where their head office and breeding center are also located. During the Morel Cyclamen Trials they will be taking a look at which products do best under the Mediterranean conditions. (Click here for the invitation)
