Afrex adds new edible flowers to their range:

"Edible flowers increasingly popular with floral designers"

Edible flowers have become more popular among top class chefs and high-end restaurants over the years. However, nowadays more and more floral designers are starting to use them as well in their floral designs. At table arrangements and in glass vases, they are used more and more - all to make the dining experience more special. This was explained by John Kowarsky, Director at Afrex Trading. For the last three years, they have been exporting edible flowers and leaves, and they have seen the demand from florists grow each year.

For many years, Afrex has been exporting Cape Flora and agricultural products from South Africa across the globe. The vast product range includes Protea, Leucodendron, Leucospermum, Greens and Foliage, Cape Flora, Cape Flora Bouquets, Cymbidiums, Chrysanthemum and Wax Flowers. The newest addition to their product range are the edible flowers.

The edible flowers that Afrex exports are all grown in South Africa. Currently, they have more than 30 different varieties of edible flowers and leaves in their assortment. John: "We are always looking for new products to sell. New trendy products that help our customers to sell our core products which in turn helps Afrex. Edible flowers can be used by the floral designers when doing events like weddings, parties, Christmas parties, decorating hotel dining rooms, and office parties that make the dining experience more special and attractive."

The broad assortment of edible flowers also brings a broad range of special tastes. "This again adds to the enjoyment of dining."

Afrex keeps on adding new varieties to their assortment and are eager to promote their different decorative ideas. Curious about the products of Afrex? Visit their booth at the IFTF in Vijfhuizen this week, from November 6-8. This year, they will present their products at their new location (Hall C stand C3.19).
