Following the outbreak of the nCoV (Coronavirus), the Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing is being postponed. The show was to take place in Beijing in April this year. The organizers will announce a new date, delaying the show to September, October or November of this year.
According to the show organizers, the decision was made in order to protect the health of the exhibitors and visitors and assure the effect of the exhibition, after the negotiation with the Sponsor China Flower Association.
Over the last couple of weeks many exhibitors and visitors were doubting whether they would be making it to the show and whether it would be an interesting show if fewer people showed up. Now the organizers made this decision. "We’ll keep close contact with government authorities and relevant departments concerned, and the specific date will be announced once it is available", they communicate.
Hortiflorexpo IPM is one of the biggest horticultural trade shows in China. Organized one year in Shanghai and next year in Beijing. Last year, it was held in Shanghai and the show covered nearly 50,000 square meters and welcomed 52,362 visitors.

Asian shows
Flower Expo China - China
Last week, the organization of Flower Expo China announced that the show - that was planned to take place from March 16-18, 2020 is postponed to May 11-13, 2020 in Guangzhou due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Hortex - Vietnam
In the next couple of months there are more Asian exhibitions on the agenda. Next week the HortEx will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. On the show there are additional measures to disinfect hands and facilities. Due to the new efforts from the government to control the virus, Vietnam does not issue (business) visas anymore to Chinese citizens, therefore we do not expect to have any Chinese exhibitors and/or visitors to be present at HortEx Vietnam.
Horti Asia - Thailand
Also the Horti Asia will take place as planned. The show is organised in Bangkok on May 7-9. "We are closely monitoring the situation in Thailand and are having daily contacts & updates with the Thai government, local industry partners and further stakeholders. Depending on the development of the virus, we will have temperature scanning sensors and sanitary facilities inside the exhibition center to minimize the risks among visitors."
