This morning in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, several international representatives were present to cut ribbons in the SECC exhibition centre, officially opening the HortEx horticultural trade show. "And we hope to welcome the show in Vietnam for many years to come" the chairman of the Vietnam Flowers and Vegetable association emphasised during the opening event.
As a whole the economy of Vietnam has been growing for quite some years now and so does the horticultural industry, which has reflected on the first two editions of the annual HortEx show. This year's visitor number will be affected by the recent virus issues. The appearance of multiple rows of visitors in the paths, something that spoiled the exhibitors during the last two editions, has not occurred.
The remarks during the opening show reveal how the representatives of the industry hope for an ongoing trust in the Vietnamese market and how they are counting on the support of international suppliers to help develop the Vietnamese industry. New trade agreements are to help further improve import and export opportunities for growers and suppliers.
We'll keep you updated on the show and the Vietnamese industry in the next coming days and present a full photo report on Monday March 2.
