Just a couple of weeks left till the participants of the California Spring Trials 2020 open their doors. At this week-long event held at various locations throughout California from March 28 - April 1, breeders, growers and suppliers will showcase their newest varieties and products.

Delphinium grandiflorum Jenny’s Pearl Blue
Delphinium Jenny’s Pearl Blue - American Takii
American Takii has a new Delphinium series, consisting of 2 colors, namely Delphinium grandiflorum Jenny’s Pearl Blue (see picture above), and Jenny’s Pearl Pink. "Delphinium grandiflorum Jenny’s Pearl has 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) flowers with a garden height of 20 to 25 inches (50 to 64 cm). Produces branched sprays of flowers; in addition to pot and bedding use, it can also be grown for cut flower. "It has an excellent vase life. It maintains a stable flower color even under high temperatures."
Torenia Vertigo F1 - Ameriseed
Torenia “Vertigo” is a brand new F1 Torenia and is ideal for pot and landscape production. All the breeding and selection work has been carried out at our AmeriSeed research facilities in Northern Thailand under extreme heat and humidity. Vertigo is a continuously flowering type of Torenia and produces glossy green foliage and with a compact plant habit. The blossoms do not fade even when exposed to strong sunlight. Vertigo is ideally suited to hot, humid, tropical, sub-tropical, Summer growing conditions. “Vertigo” Torenia is named to commemorate the Alfred Hitchcock film part of which was produced at the Mission of San Juan Bautista. AmeriSeed will be introducing this unique series during CAST 2020 held at The Speedling young plant production facility, San Juan Bautista, California.

Foliage wax 'Orion'
Foliage Wax - Nir Nursery
We would like to bring to spotlight our "Foliage Wax" varieties.
These are wax flower varieties that allow for new uses of the plant material. The varieties have natural coloration of the branches, leaves and buds that could be red, bright green and orange. They could be used from December to April, during which time they can be marketed for the colorful foliage. Later on they could be marketed with the colorful buds as well, and finally they bloom like other wax flower varieties in pink, white and purple.
