All over the world, the list of floral initiatives is growing. Not only initiatives to promote and showcase the flower industry to the world are arising, donations of flowers as well as healthcare product donations from the flower industry are too. Below again some recent activities that can be added to the list.
Colombia - We reap hope
Also in Colombia, Ball SB made a video 'We reap hope'. "This is a time to care, it is a time to share, it is a time to be united as an industry for a blooming economy and never forgetting the most vulnerable that will be brighten in their most delicate situations," the company states.
Australia
#Plantpals launches this week. Greenlife Industry Australia is working with GIA Member NGI Associations and Garden Centres of Australia to deliver an eight week member orientated, local consumer engagement campaign called Plant Pals. The campaign will benefit the members of GIA, NGI Associations and GCA in a number of ways:
- helping strengthen the independent retail and garden centre channel for growers (valued at E$500m).
- establishing a movement for growers, landscapers and retailers to share information and advice long after COVID-19 has moved on.
- a retail store locator with a postcode search on the Plant Pals site.
- providing free #PlantPals content to share socially on Facebook and/or Instagram.
- contribute to an increased following of business social pages by boosting those posts directly
- a free ‘toolbox’ of content and media support to encourage businesses to be the hero of their own campaign.
Illinois (US) - Temking PPC donates bouquets
Temkin PPC is proud to support H-E-B during National Nurses Week. H-E-B, a major grocery store chain in Texas, has partnered with local growers, farms, delivery services, and Temkin PPC to surprise Texas nurses with more than 4,000 plants and bouquets as a “thank you” for their hard work.
"Nurses are the heartbeat of our healthcare system. They are selfless champions filled with caring and kindness," said Winell Herron, Group VP of public affairs, diversity and environmental affairs at H-E-B. "We are forever thankful for these hard-working heroes on the front lines who sacrifice daily to protect the health of our communities."
Temkin PPC provided plant and bouquet packaging, including floral picks that feature their superhero campaign which celebrates everyday heroes, such as those in the medical field.
"We were delighted to team up with our partners at H-E-B and give a tiny little back to those giving us so much right now," said Tatiana Perez, VP of sales for floral/gift and corporate marketing at Temki N PPC. "The deliveries began on national nurses day (May 6th) and are continuing throughout the week."
The Netherlands - Online opening of FloriWorld
FloriWorld, the newest attraction dedicated to flowers and plants in the Netherlands, is ready to launch with an online opening. Under the banner, 'Experience the magic of real and virtual flowers', this new attraction will let you experience what flowers and plants do for you. It will also act as the Flower Council of Holland's new head office in the near future.
The online opening will take place on May 21 from 13:00 GMT, with a special feature for the UK, France and Belgium at 14:00 GMT.
