On October 13th, Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) will organize another workshop on sustainable packaging in horticulture. "We made good progress at the industry workshop back in June and plenty has happened since, so we invite you to join us for an update and to get working the next steps in driving packaging sustainability in the horticultural sector", they say in the announcement.
"Our discussions in June saw great interest in the national Polypropylene plant packaging collection initiative... so much so that Greenlife Industry Australian (GIA) and the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) joined forces in July. Seizing on the opportunity offered by the Australian Government through the National Product Stewardship Investment Fund, support was sought for the rollout of a national program, so we will update the workshop on the submission and commence planning towards the delivery a structured program. Join us to help shape that process."
"We will also expand the focus of the working group more broadly across the sector, commencing work to refine the Horticultural packaging supply chain and allied business networks mapping. This work will form the foundation for a detailed material flow analysis, to identify packaging challenges across the sector and identify potential solutions for further investigation. We encourage industry to provide vital input to this dialogue."
