Expoflores launches its new APP-APC (that stands for Aplicación para procesos de cultivo in Spanish), which means Growing Process app, and it is free and exclusive for Expoflores members. This APP seeks the process automatization of counting the phenological growth stages of roses and the delivery of efficient solutions such as counting tools, accurate results of the count carried out, adjusted projections to the farm reality, and comparative reports. These types of tools allow the flower growers to optimize time and resources for their technical and sales teams.
Alejandro Martínez, Expoflores CEO assures that “APC-APP will help, support and simplify internal processes in the farms, save costs: avoiding mistakes made by double typing, since the information uploaded to the APP feeds the system, which will issue a report to each farm at the end of each count”. Moreover, the APC-APP will be a breakthrough for the sector, since it will give more accurate projections for Expoflores members (flower growers and airline companies for flight schedules), especially during the main seasons.
The APC-APP would not only automate the counting process, but will enable the sales teams to obtain accurate projections, so they would “have certainty regarding the flower quantity for specific dates, especially for the main seasons, so they can preset flowers for their orders, allowing them to negotiate flowers with better prices in the market” assures Roberto Toscano, Corporate Technical Manager at HOJA VERDE.

Multiple users from the same farm can be using the APP at the same time.
The App can work without an internet connection. This has been taken into account because many farms do not have Wi-Fi in all their greenhouses. Then, the account is synchronized with the system, once there is a connection to the network; so the reports can be issued with all the data uploaded.
Expoflores has been testing the App, before it has been launched. For example, Rosadex was one of the farms testing it. Pablo Cevallos, Technical Manager at Rosadex shares his experience with us, referring to the APC-APP as, “a good tool because it controls the projection in the field; also, there is a low margin of error, and above all, it helps to project the sale. This is a reliable system, which allows us to be more accurate”.
Expoflores invites its members to download the APC-APP at Google Play Store. It is free, and it seeks to help the counting process of the phenological growth stages of roses. Therefore, each user would generate more real and accurate projections that without a doubt will bring advantages for the farms.
Expoflores launches this first phase, as the beginning of a greater project. For the following phases, it would include new variables to the system such as temperature, light, degrees/days, counting process for fresh cut flowers, as well as new necessities presented by the growers.
