Suntory Flowers will license 3 farms to produce cuttings for North America in 2021:

More URCs available for Princettia

Just in time for the next poinsettia season, Suntory Flowers will license three farms to produce Princettia euphorbia cuttings for North America in 2021. Now in addition to Dümmen Orange, growers will be able to get cuttings from Vivero Internacional and Beekenkamp.

· Dümmen Orange (Central America)
Their long-standing partnership will continue with Dümmen Orange as the primary cuttings source for Princettia varieties in North America.

· Vivero Internacional (Mexico)
Princettia will be a new offering for Vivero, expanding their current partnership to a new crop. Poinsettia is one of Vivero’s specialties.

· Beekenkamp (Ethiopia)
For nearly 10 years, Beekenkamp has produced Princettia for the European market. That supply will now be available to North American growers.

Princettia Pure White and Princettia Hot Pink

Princettia is a brand of interspecific hybrid euphorbias that bring significant improvements to traditional poinsettias. The series is known for vibrant colors – the pinkest pinks and whitest white! Plants are compact and branching to create more flower clusters with smaller bracts for a premium centerpiece look. The varieties blend especially well in combination plantings.

“We are very pleased with the growth in Princettia sales driven by our Pure White variety and signature standout pinks,” says Masashi Matsumura, executive general manager for Suntory Flowers. “We feel the potential is even greater still and look forward to expanding the Princettia category through production and marketing partnerships.”

Princettia at open houses
Princettia varieties will be shown at all the major poinsettia open houses this season, including Millstadt Young Plants, Lucas Greenhouses and Plantpeddler, as well as in academic trials at North Carolina State University and Louisiana State University.
