Beekenkamp Plants has taken a minority share in Schoneveld Breeding. Both companies continue to operate independently in the field of breeding, production and sales. They see joint opportunities in exchanging knowledge of innovative breeding techniques and research.
Why this collaboration?
For both family businesses, commitment, reliability and innovation are the core values in their business culture and processes. Peter van de Pol, owner of Schoneveld Breeding, is enthusiastic about this: “This collaboration creates an exchange of knowledge and joining of forces is of great added value for the entire chain.” An Beekenkamp, owner of Beekenkamp Plants, adds: “With this investment we gain access to each other's knowledge and that offers b(l)ooming perspectives.”
What does it mean?
Schoneveld Breeding breeds and sells seeds worldwide and remains an independent supplier to all young plant growers. Beekenkamp Plants is breeder of cutting raised products, also produces young plants from seed and cutting.
Current collaborations and relationships continue to exist. For customers, nothing changes in access to genetics, technical and sales support. Agreements made, remain unchanged, as do the contact person. “This collaboration is primarily intended to increase the effectiveness of research and development,” says Marc Driessen, Director of Beekenkamp Plants Ornamentals. "This step creates a beautiful hybrid."
