Fresh-key welcomes new developments in the Chinese market

Risk in the Chinese cold supply chain industry frequently bring challenges and opportunities

Against the background of rapid economic developments in the international market, the swift expansion of the cold supply chain industry is one of the most surprising developments in the Chinese distribution industry. At the same time, as a growing number of markets requires cold supply chain services to better control the risks involved in food safety and reduce the cost price of spoiled products, traders begin to pay more attention to the standards and conditions in the cold supply chain industry.

Companies find strict control over temperature and moisture during the distribution process the most important aspect of the cold supply chain industry. However, cold distribution is quite expensive. Cold distribution includes mobile refrigeration technology and risk management of the uncertainties during transport. Under these conditions, being able to spot the risks early is an import advantage in keeping the volume of spoiled products small and therefore the cost of waste low. The ability to track products and effectively interact is important. The prevention of problems and the solution to issues as they arise, are both important to effectively reduce risks in the cold supply chain industry.

Customs inspections have found Covid-19 in the food or on the packaging of import products in 10 Chinese provinces since June. Wu Zunyou, chief specialist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention explained that viruses can normally survive for several weeks during regular cold distribution. Furthermore, products travel from a wide variety of production areas before they enter the cold supply chain, and every step of the process carries risks of infection.

"The current situation is quite severe. And once importers are preparing for Christmas and Chinese Spring Festival [12 February, 2021], the import volume rapidly grows. This will undoubtedly increase the risk of infections. That is why we believe in the vital importance of product quality control and product tracking during every step of the supply chain from import of fresh products from well-known importers, through processing facilities and during transport as well as in the online and offline stores, until the products reach the customers." This is according to Tina Sun, CEO of Fresh-key (Shanghai) Communications Science and Technology Co., Ltd.

The Fresh-key team works hard to provide clients across the globe with comprehensive, Internet-of-Things (IOT) monitoring solutions for the cold supply chain industry. The company has clients in more than 10 countries in America and Asia. Clients can track their products on the Fresh-IOT platform. They receive real-time information on the temperature, humidity, and location. In addition, Fresh-key products use USB-technology to store local information during distribution. Fresh-key trackers also combine 4G and 2G technology to keep track of temperature and moisture in shipping containers that travel across regions with varying network coverage. Fresh-key monitoring products provide comprehensive solutions for the cold supply chain industry. The monitoring equipment independently uploads data and is both efficient and reliable!

In addition, clients can send an e-mail to importers that provides them with access to tracking information and other relevant data. This enables importers to know in time when their products pass inspections and clear customs. This helps reduce the time that food products spend in the port, which further reduces the risk of infection and helps to improve food safety!

Fresh-IOT platform

The Fresh-IOT platform offers a guarantee to importers and exporters. Exporters can upload pictures of preventative measures taken to protect the cargo. Importers can download these pictures from the Fresh-IOT platform. These pictures provide a basis for food safety and help solve disputes that may arise. This feature offers an advantage to both sides involved.

"Companies in many different industries are struggling this year because of the outbreak of Covid-19. The cold supply chain industry is not different, but we are not too worried. The Fresh-IOT platform is a product that answers a need in the market, regardless of circumstances. The Fresh-IOT platform is always able to improve the product value for importers and exporters," said Tina Sun.
