Dutch minister Schouten meets Florensis online

Friday afternoon 18th December, Florensis facilitated a digital work visit from minister Carola Schouten (Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food quality) to talk about the consequences of Brexit.

Florensis already started two years ago to be prepared for the new regulations. Minister Schouten: “It is good to see how a company like Florensis prepares to the Brexit. Because no matter how the results of the negotiations will be, the Brexit will give friction.”

“Despite our preparations to several scenarios and the good cooperation with NAK Tuinbouw, the new rules per 1st January 2021 demand adjustments of everyone and will give uncertainties,” Leo Hoogendoorn (CEO Florensis) indicates. “We are glad to have an English partner and hope during the following weeks with this advantage to be able to get used to new processes, which cost more attention and time, before our busy export period starts.”

Minister Schouten ended the online meeting by offering the help of the ministry for support and stating that she is glad to see that Florensis with NAK Tuinbouw has anticipated so well to Brexit.
