Wicked tulips flower farm in Exeter celebrates opening weekend

It's been a long winter, and the owners of Rhode Island's famous pick-your-own tulip farm say people are eager to get outdoors and gather flowers while enjoying the sights and sounds of spring.

Wicked Tulips Flower Farm welcomed a sold-out crowd during its grand opening weekend. The tulips are abundant and blooming a little early this year, so they opened their gates Friday and Saturday.

"We cannot wait for the rest of the season," said tulip farm co-creator Keriann Koeman. "It was so great seeing everyone enjoy the farm safely and we couldn't do it without our team!"

The flower farmers say they are looking forward to welcoming visitors from all over New England. This year, Wicked Tulips is requiring visitors to bring their own bucket. Tulip fans were very creative and were seen toting yeti buckets, flower pots, hanging baskets and more, Koeman said.

Picking is by reservation only. Reservations are available online at wickedtulips.com.
