Mayor Frank Jackson’s administration announced in March the city would begin reopening sites, including outdoor pools, some playgrounds and ball fields. The reopened sites, though, will still have restrictions in place to deter spreading of the coronavirus.
For the greenhouse, that will include required mask wearing, social distancing and limited capacity in the building. The greenhouse was popular for its displays of fruit trees, including lemon and grapefruit, and for rooms of flowers it grows for use around the city, such as poinsettias in the holiday season.
The greenhouse, at the north end of East 88th Street just east of Martin Luther King Boulevard, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Jackson ordered a host of closures in March 2020, including Cleveland City Hall, as the coronavirus began to spread. Cleveland City Hall still is closed to the public. Most services must be accessed online.
