As of 30th June, Florensis is taking over Desa Plants PLC in Ejersa (Ethiopia) from young plant producer Decock Plants BVBA in Comines (Belgium). Under the management of Florensis Abyssinia, also established in Ejersa, the present production activities of unrooted cuttings will be continued.
Desa Plants PLC was founded in 2008 by Ludo Decock and produces unrooted cuttings of various crop groups. The company started with 4 hectares of greenhouse area and has now expanded to 14 hectares of greenhouses.
All current orders of both unrooted cuttings and rooted young plants of Decock Plants bvba will be produced and distributed by Decock Plants until 30 September 2021. Per 1 October 2021 Florensis will take over the then still running orders in its production process and distribution system.
Florensis CEO Leo Hoogendoorn, is pleased with this takeover. "This increases our in-house production capacity and thus strengthens our position in a number of specific crop groups."
