Most plants/flowers are usually packaged in plastic sleeves. However, the demand for environmentally friendly alternatives such as paper sleeves is clearly rising. That is according to the German company, Weber Verpackung. "There are several reasons why growers are increasingly choosing paper sleeves as a sustainable packaging solution," explains Olaf Amende.
"That's for both manual and (semi)-automated use. There's not only demanding consumers and international legislation about plastic reduction. There's pressure from resellers, like exporters, garden centers, and retailers too."
With bloom guard glassine, Weber Verpackungen brings (flowering) plants in transparent paper sleeves to life. This natural type of paper lets you see the packaged product. It has a striking glossy appearance too. "We want to create an experience and distinctive position. We do that through, , among other things, packaging with a story. This sleeve expresses that," concludes Olaf.
Weber Verpackungen produces these paper sleeves in various paper qualities. They also come in many different formats, variants, forms and constructions. They also guarantee a high-quality, state-of-the-art print result in ten different colors. They're manufactured near Dortmund, Germany. That means a short, flexible supply route to the Netherlands. In a strongly changing market, this is a major advantage over the Far East route supply.
