Nearly 500 growers of live ornamental plants in Colombia, who believe in forcing meaningful business relationships and have joined Colviveros since its creation at the end of 2016, fine-tune the details of the third edition of ExpoPlantas, Colombia's Nursery Growers Expo, which will be held at ExpoFuturo in Pereira, the heart of the Colombian Coffee Belt Region
The event will be opened by the Colombian Minister of Agriculture, Rodolfo Zea; the general manager of ICA, the Colombian phytosanitary authority, Deyanira Barrero; and Fabián Sáenz, vice president of the Supply Chain of Costa Farms.
Jairo Cadavid Ossa, president of the Association of Colombian Nurseries and Ornamental Growers, Colviveros, reported that the exhibition will occupy 2,800 m2 of the main ExpoFuturo Exhibition Hall in Pereira, and will offer the best of the Colombian nursery growers´ portfolio of Colombian nursery growers, including flower plants, foliage plants, orchids, cacti, succulents, palms, forestry, and fruit plant material.
The Trade Association leader added that nursery growers will have the opportunity to update their knowledge and deepen the trends of the green sector, guided by international and national experts, who will also address issues related to productivity, varietal rights, and marketing of live and ornamental plants.
The President of Colviveros also added that the Second Live Plant Technical Contest will be held during the event, an initiative that seeks to recognize the best plant growers in the country. Last but not least, participants will have the opportunity to visit nursery production in this region of Colombia.
