China: First phase of 70.000 sqm. smart greenhouse completed

After more than half a month of cultivation in a 20.000 m2 smart greenhouse, 500.000 pots and seedlings of Dendrobium, Zygopetalum, and Oncidium orchids in the Kaiyuan National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in the East of China grow happily. 

These 20.000 mare just the beginning: the plan is to build a 70.000 m2 smart greenhouse in Kaiyuan in three phases, and the part that has been constructed now is only the first.

"The reason why our company chose Kaiyuan is that there are good climatic conditions here. What also helps is that the support policy of the Kaiyuan City Government for the flower industry allows us to take the advantage of good preferential services, and we also work with local growers to create more economic output," said Yang Zhiwei, head of the enterprise.

In the second and third phases of expanding the greenhouse, poinsettia, Rieger begonia, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, ball chrysanthemum, pot chrysanthemum, petunia, carnation, hydrangea, and other new varieties of potted flowers will be introduced to carry out research and development, breeding, propagation, and cultivation
