Joint Director of agriculture farms reviews floriculture development in Kashmir

The Joint Director Agriculture Kashmir Farms, Dr. Syed Waseem Ahmad Shah, held a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress on the implementation of Floriculture Development Scheme.

While addressing the meeting Dr. Waseem highlighted the importance of Departmental farms amid the changing Agriculture scenario. He said floriculture is a fast emerging venture, that has a vast potential in the special agro-climatic conditions like Kashmir. He asked the officers to make optimum use of the land available with these farms and maintain this land on the modern scientific lines.

The meeting was attended by Floriculturist Abdul Rehman Samoon, Chief Technical Officer Sheikh Farhan & all farm managers of Floriculture Development Scheme.

Later on Joint Director Farms visited Seed Multiplication Farm Gangbugh where he interacted with the technical experts and concerned officers of the farm regarding the status of Rabi crops. He was briefed by the Seed Production Officer, Kashmir Gh. Mohi ud din Kumar about the various interventions adopted at the farm.
