Flower and plant sales on Royal FloraHolland's marketplace reached 5.6 billion euros in 2021. That is 800 million euros more than in the previous record year 2019. The record turnover can be attributed entirely to good pricing. Prices were on average more than 20 percent higher than in 2019. The sales growth took place in both cut flowers, houseplants and garden plants.
The volume in 2021 was 12.1 billion flowers and plants. In 2019, the amount was 12.3 billion at a turnover of 4.8 billion euros. In 2020, the first corona year, sales in the marketplace were 4.7 billion euros and the volume was 11.4 billion flower and plants.
Digital marketplace
Royal FloraHolland's marketplace is becoming increasingly digital. Turnover through the digital platform Floriday already exceeded 1 billion euros in 2021. Every week, more than 4,000 growers and buyers from more than 45 countries use Floriday. More than 1,700 growers have a 'store' on Floriday, making Floriday the largest digital B2B shopping site in Europe.
