Terra Nova Nurseries announced a sneak peek of its brand-new Penstemon ‘Flock of Flamingos’ variety. This plant’s habit is upright and bushy with low and glossy growth. Penstemon ‘Flock of Flamingos’ is a top pollinator attractor that is very attractive to bumble bees. It has continuous blooming from early spring through frost. It features green foliage and large flower stalks covered in attractive shrimp-pink flowers that shift to baby pink as they age.
U.S.D.A. Hardiness Zones for Penstemon ‘Flock of Flamingos’ are 6-9, and its exposure allows for full sun. This plant likes to be moderately dry between waterings, and it has a foliage height of 14”, a foliage spread of 18”, and a flower height of 36”.
Finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot is four to six weeks. Finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is six to eight weeks. The Terra Nova breeding team recommends that growers do not over water or over mulch.
