As the nights are getting brighter and the spring fields are starting to bloom, experts at Flying Flowers, a UK flower delivery company, reveal the floral trends set to be big this Spring using industry knowledge and Google and Pinterest search trends.
The top five floral trends for Spring 2022
1. Peonies
"Typically blooming between late April and mid-Jun, Peonies embody all things spring. The bright, vibrant colours of these stems bring life into any room and are set to be very popular this Spring, with Google searches for peonies already increasing by 54% in the last month."
2. Dried Flowers
" Dried flowers and pampas grass have been a major trend over the last couple of years, with many of us opting to decorate our homes with dehydrated stems. This spring will see another surge in dried flowers being used but in other formats. Wedding season is fast approaching and Google searches for dried wedding flowers have increased by an incredible 128% in the past month."
3. Bringing nature indoors
Wall panelling is an interior trend we have seen burst onto Instagram feeds over the last year and this is set to continue with a twist. This spring, our floral experts predict that interior trends will witness a move to bring nature indoors with the introduction of wooden wall panelling. Pinterest data has revealed that interest in wood panel walls has surged by 112% in the last three months.
4. Popcorn yellow
"It wouldn't be spring without an injection of bold colours. This season, popcorn yellow will be a huge trend across the interior and fashion world. Listed under Pantone’s Spring/Summer 2022 London Colour Palette."
5. Wildflowering
Nationwide rewilding efforts over the last few years have seen a resurgence in the interest in wildflowers. In a bid to increase biodiversity, garden lovers are opting to sew wildflower seeds across lawns to encourage new wildlife and reduce the need for grass cutting.
Wildflowering supports pollinators, bugs and bees. Famers are also sewing wildflower margins at the side of crops to encourage natural biodiverse environments which support wildlife and soil health.
Wildflowers were a huge hit during last year’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park and the trend is set to become even more mainstream this spring."
