Bio-based economy
The visit highlighted the strong cooperation between Genetia BioSciences and its Swiss partner on CleanTech technology utilized for the mass production of in vitro plants. Specifically, cannabis and hemp varieties represent ideal multi-purpose, highly circular crops that facilitate uses in the circular and biobased economy. All the derivatives from the whole plant are disposable, reusable, or biodegradable. The commercial potential of the more than 600 plant constituents is enormous. The numerous applications are found in medicines, food, bioplastics, fuels, bio composite, building materials, animal feed, paper, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals.
