"Decline of shipping fees stimulates trade, and market demand for temperature data loggers grows stronger"

The height of the fruit season has arrived in the northern hemisphere. The shipping costs declined in the last few months, stimulating trade. As a result, import and export volumes expanded. And so, market demand for temperate and humidity data loggers used in distribution is growing stronger again.

Siya is a spokesperson for the manufacturer and retailer of temperature and humidity monitors, Beijing Sino-Agricultural Biosciences Co., Ltd. She recently talked about current conditions in the market. "The product quality of fresh fruit and vegetables during transport directly affects the market price. That is why temperature and humidity data loggers are becoming more important in this industry. We introduce the METECH single-use, USB-based temperature data logger to better meet the demand of our clients for accurate temperature and humidity data loggers. Our data loggers are widely applicable. They can accurately log data for minute changes in temperature and humidity levels while transporting apples, pears, mangos, avocados, and stone fruits."

Siya also introduced the specifications of the METECH single-use, USB-based temperature data logger. "This product measures temperatures between -30°C~+70°C with an accuracy of ±0.5°C/0.9°F and a display specification of 0.01°C/°F. The temperature data loggers can last as long as 120 days. They are made of food-grade plastic and waterproof. Moreover, the data loggers are convenient to use. Clients only need to plug the data loggers into the computer, and a pdf with logged temperature data will automatically download. There is no need for additional software or card readers," said Siya. "Compared to other products in the market, we use TI digital temperature sensors with greater accuracy and consistency. The market has struggled with a shortage of computer chips for quite some time now, but we already made agreements with suppliers before the situation escalated, and so we can guarantee a stable production and supply of data loggers."

When asked about the current sales conditions, Siya replied: "In the first half of this year, we sold much more than in the same period last year. That is primarily because the cost of shipping has gone down, and so the import and export volumes have expanded. This creates more market demand for our products, so our sales figures have improved. Some of our old clients have gradually increased their order volumes," said Siya.

"Although some clients have withdrawn from the import business during the pandemic and switched to domestic trade, most of our clients remain in the export business. And now the global import and export market is growing again, so our sales volume of temperature and humidity data loggers is not declining but expanding instead. The northern hemisphere is in the middle of a busy fruit sales season, so we have received numerous inquiries from clients. We are very optimistic about this season."

Siya also added that the shortage of computer chips is quite serious, and some companies have had to adjust their production and supply as a result. When asked about the measures that Beijing Sino-Agricultural Biosciences took, Siya explained, "before the shortage became serious, we had already discussed policies with suppliers, and we created a reserve. We have sufficient supply now, so our production and sales have not been affected."
