Hutchinson says there have been some supply chain issues that have delayed certain aspects of construction, but just a handful of items remain before work is finished. A learning and life skills kitchen is part of the project, and part of the courtyard is being converted into an indoor multipurpose room.
Hutchinson says horticultural therapy helps with a range of life skills, and the goal of this new 2,100-square-foot greenhouse is to help clients create something meaningful. Plans will be finalized once Hetlinger hires a horticulturist to lead the program, but initial thoughts are wildflowers, transplantable vegetables, and other plants could be grown inside.
