Fewer chrysanthemums in 2023, grower expects -35%

Arcadia Chrysanten in De Lier, one of the largest growers of ornamental flowers in the Netherlands, will have five of its twenty-seven hectares empty this winter. The Financieele Dagblad discovered this in conversation with director-owner Bert van Ruijven. He expects there to be 35% fewer chrysanthemums in the Netherlands next year. "That means the price will rise," he says. The grower also expects that some companies will have to stop.
