In addition to their families/series, such as Santini Ellison, Santini Rossi, and pot chrysanthemum families Da Vinci and Jackson, Floritec will showcase something new at this year's Trade Fair in Aalsmeer: their assortment of chrysanthemums from Colombia.
To get familiar with these new varieties, Floritec's Colombia representative Juan Carlos Naranjo provides a small introduction to all that Colombia has to offer.
Avilia
Colombian variety
"In Colombia, we have different varieties than in the Netherlands, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. With different climate conditions and altitudes in each region, there is plenty of variation as well. A consistent factor is the weather, which lends itself to the year-round cultivation of flowers without the need for heating during the winter months like you would have in the Netherlands."
With such growing conditions, it's no wonder that Colombia is the second-largest exporter of flowers in the world.

International
In recent years, there have been a lot more companies from North America, Colombia, Ecuador, and other countries visiting the Trade Fair as well. Because of this, it's the perfect time for Floritec to showcase their Colombian varieties for the first time.
"During the Trade Fair, we will showcase the Colombian varieties Floritec has been working on as well as the market opportunities. Unfortunately, we can't display all our assortment in one stand. There is still so much more to show, and even more to come." Some of the varieties Juan says to keep an eye out for are the Avila, Okada, Zippo, and Summerflame.
Summerflame
Floritec will showcase their Colombian varieties at the FloraHolland Trade Fair, 9-11 November, stand 7.26.
