Hasselfors Garden acquires Algomin AB in Sweden

"Widening our presence in other categories than soil supports our strategy of being the best partner in growth for Swedish home gardeners. Hasselfors Garden soil products have a strong position in Sweden, and they are known for their good quality and performance. Algomin fertilizers fit well into our product family, strengthening our position of becoming the number one gardening brand in Sweden", states Tiia Kujanpää, Director of Business Unit Retail at Kekkilä-BVB, the parent company of Hasselfors Garden.

Algomin is a second-generation family company founded in 1983. The current owners' Oscar and Eric Lagerberg are satisfied with the acquisition by Hasselfors Garden: "Our family has been able to make a true success story out of Algomin and build a solid and loyal customer base that is continuously growing. We believe that in the care of Hasselfors Garden, Algomin products can continue to grow and support the needs of even a wider group of consumers interested in gardening".

The sales of Algomin products have been steadily rising, and their market position is very strong. The well-known Algomin brand has been functioning as a platform for new product releases, which have been welcomed by the loyal customer base. The popularity has also been enhanced by an ambitious environmental focus dating back 40 years, supported by ISO and KRAV certifications.

"Sustainability is at the core of Kekkilä-BVB and Hasselfors Garden, and we want to help people to do gardening and growing plants as sustainably and easily as possible. These same principles can also be found behind Algomin products. This is something that our customers and consumers also appreciate", concludes Tiia Kujanpää.

This acquisition covers both Algomin AB and Algomin AS Norge. Algomin's personnel will be included in Hasselfors Garden's and Kekkilä-BVB's team, where their experience will be highly appreciated.
