Floriworld is closed to tourist visitors. The operating agreement between Floriworld and operator DEX Aalsmeer is terminated in full consultation, the company itself publicly stated on Tuesday afternoon. The board has requested external experts to develop future scenarios.
Important considerations in these scenarios are: emphasizing the importance of flowers and plants in human life, promoting the sector in recreational and informative ways within The Netherlands and abroad, and putting Floriworld on the map as a meeting place for Dutch ornamental industry.
The combination of the coronavirus with the war in Ukraine made for a lack of visitors, which Floriworld has not been able to compensate for otherwise. Closure for tourist visitors is inevitable. Floriworld is currently engaged in negotiations with DEX Aalsmeer regarding corporate events. Floriworld has opened its doors on July 1st, 2020.
