This morning, February 22, the Fiera Milano in Milan, Italy, opened its doors to the seventh edition of Myplant & Garden. Even though the Italian growers, like many growers in Europe, are dealing with the high energy prices, the vibe on the show floor is optimistic. Also, here, the energy crisis is a hot topic and is affecting the growers and, in turn, production. For spring, which is the most important season for the Italian grower, production is down and delayed. This is because many growers decided to produce their crops in lower temperatures or even stopped production due to the high gas prices. However, also fewer products are expected to come from the Netherlands, so hopes are high for a good demand, But the demand always depends on the weather.
In total, there are 640 brands, of which 22% are from abroad, exhibiting on a 45,000 sqm surface. Over the last few years, Myplant & Garden has become one of the most important international and professional trade fairs for the horticulture, gardening, and landscape industry in Italy. It is a 3-day event and will last till Friday, February 24.
